Back to School

My daughter wanted to change her room decor and she picked mint and gold. I had an extra Ikea pegboard lying around in my house from a previous project; my craft room. We went to Ikea to buy some more accessories for the pegboard. Let me tell you, EVERYTHING regarding the pegboard is SOLD OUT! No accessories, no hooks, nothing!

What do we do with a pegboard without hooks? Improvise! I recently saw regular pegboard hooks at our local Dollarama. Nothing better than finding a steal. Initially I wanted to try it out by turning the pegboard sideways. But these regular hooks fit the original pegboard side and it was secure enough to not fall out. I was ecstatic!!

Another hack I discovered while roaming Dollar Tree for school supplies was this white wall hook rack. It fits PERFECTLY on the pegboard hooks.

I repurposed the girls’ ikea toy bookshelf and used it to hold washi tape. Because a crafter can never get enough of washi right?

Dollarama never ceases to impress me. I found the leather planner which is perfect for an 11 year old. I also found the perfect mint clipboard to match her decor.

Last but not least, I got the bottom bar kit from Ikea to hold all her pens and markers. This kit includes the hooks and since she needs to wear masks at school, I was able to hang them up! I’m pretty content with the way it looks but most importantly, my tween is very happy with it!
