DIY Orange Garland

Did you know?

Oranges symbolize the season of giving. Giving of oranges in Christmas stockings is a symbol of charity and giving. It serves as a reminder to care for others who are in need and less fortunate than you. Since the orange separates easily into segments, it is an easy fruit to share with others.

I wanted to try out this trend and make this orange garland. It gave me an idea to put as one of our advent calendar activities.

It was very simple to make and it looks amazing! I read that this can last for a long time and even 1 commented she had it for years! I toasted the sliced oranges with star anise, cloves and cinnamon to make it more aromatic. The house smelled amazing while it was baking. Kienna even said the house smells like Pho which is a popular Vietnamese noodle soup dish that I make with cinnamon, cloves and star anise.

How to:

✨ 3-4 oranges sliced thinly about 1/8-1/4 inches apart

✨ Line on oven rack topped with the spices and put in middle rack

✨ Bake at 250 degrees Celsius for 3 hours

✨ Make a hole in each orange slice and thread through with twine and use your creativity.

✨ You can also add in essential oils like lemon. I didn’t have any lemon to dehydrate so I added a drop in each dried orange.
