World Oceans Day Sensory Table

In honour of World Ocean week, here is a sensory bin idea using dollar store items and things you can find around the house. The dollar store is heaven for sensory play. You can get so many activities for toddlers. The options are endless. Be creative!

Everything you see here is purchased either from Dollarama or Dollar Tree. A few things I already had at home like the animals, sea creatures and resting rock. The flowers and butterflies are sticker embellishments I already had but you can find most of these things at the dollar store.

Dollarama

✨ Treasure chest in craft isle.

✨ Bamboo tongs in kitchen isle.

✨ Blue sand in home decor isle.

✨ Mini gardening tools, wooden wheelbarrow, mini paper pots in gardening isle.

✨ Green decor balls in flower isle.

✨ Moss decor balls in floral isle. Remove the pieces to make the bushes.

✨ Boat bath toy from baby isle.

Create bushes using pieces from these moss decor balls.

Dollar Tree

✨ Glass pebbles in home decor isle.

✨ Beige, black and blue sand in home/craft decor isle.

✨ Dark green shredded paper in home decor/craft isle.

✨ Beach toy shovel from seasonal isle.

Happy World Oceans Day!

The purpose of World Ocean Day is to remind everyone of the major role the oceans have in everyday life. They are the lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen we breathe. Celebrating the Day informs the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean & develop a worldwide awareness of the impact of human actions on the ocean. and develop a world wide movement to work on a project for the sustainable management of the world’s ocean. Whoever wrote this is bang on!

‘We fell asleep in one world, and woke up in another.

Suddenly Disney is out of magic,

Paris is no longer romantic,

New York doesn't stand up anymore,

the Chinese wall is no longer a fortress, and Mecca is empty.

Hugs & kisses suddenly become weapons, and not visiting parents & friends become an act of love.

Suddenly you realize that power, beauty & money are worthless, and can't get you the oxygen you're fighting for.

The world continue its life and it is beautiful. It only put humans in cages. I think it's sending us a message:

"You are not necessary. The air, earth, water and sky without you are fine. When you come back, remember that you are my guests. Not my masters."’

🌎 We use reusable water bottles, recycle, and we compost. I also water my plants and garden with left over water from cooking . What are you doing to help the environment?

Another alternative way to play is using kinetic sand, sand, sea animal toys, toy trees, marbles, rocks, aquarium fish net, and water beads.

Enjoy and have fun!
