Christmas Morning

It’s not what’s under the tree that matters. It’s who is around it.

My Christmas view with my much needed hot coffee. Christmas is my favourite holiday as I love having all my family get together including my husband’s side.

As I’m sitting here thinking and sipping this early morning, I can’t help but feel a little sad that I can’t host Christmas this year. The covid numbers are rising in Toronto, Ontario and will go into a lockdown tomorrow.

For 10+ years I’ve hosted a party for my side of the family as well as my husband’s side on Christmas day. About 40+ of us all get together, have pot luck, do activities for the kids, play games including our exciting traditional Bad Santa gift game that involves drinking. Every year I also decorate a designated wall or corner for our photo booth pictures. Those who know me knows I enjoy decorating for parties. Too bad this year will break our family tradition. It will be very different.

What are your plans for Christmas? How are you coping with covid?
