Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. Happy New Year everyone! Cheers to a great year!!!
We all know 2020 was a bad year for everyone. We lost Kobe and Gigi. Black Lives Matter happened. We are in a pandemic. Covid is here. Some of us have been affected by the virus with friends and family. Some of us have lost our jobs, lost a loved one, have increased depression and anxiety or even got evicted from their home.
For me, on January 6th, I had a little kitchen accident and carelessly cut my index finger while cooking. (I’m never going to sharpen my Zwillings knife.) I needed three stitches and boy, did that hurt. I remember thinking I would rather give birth then go through stitches without any anaesthesia. With the nature of my job I couldn’t work as I put my hands in people’s mouths. I worked for a couple of weeks in March just before Ontario announced the lock down in the first wave of covid. I was off work until October. I was anxious listening and watching the news just like everyone else. And then the news with my husband who came in contact with someone at work who was covid+ and he had to quarantine for 2 weeks. Oh the stress level was insane.
Despite all this, I am still thankful I still have a job and that my family is healthy. I am also thankful I was able to spend quality time with my kids especially my girls. They are growing too fast and into their preteens. This is an important time to build and strengthen that bond I think. I will not be able to take that amount of time off work again unless I go on maternity leave again which I do not plan to. Factory is definitely closed. Unless I change my mind.... again. I am also thankful for creating this feed and meeting all of you. Thank you for your love and support!
Among all the negative things surrounding us, let’s shift the perspective and look at the positives.
Can we start a thread of good things that has happened to you in 2020?
